The burial ground of Navlus (also called Navlus gravfelt) is located in a forest on a high ridge, east of Snåsa near Steinkjer in Fylke Trøndelag in Norway .

The burial ground dates from the early Iron Age . It consists of a building stone ( menhir ), three small stone circles , two large and some small burial mounds , as well as a number of pits for iron ore mining.

  • The building stone is about 3.5 meters high and 50 to 70 centimeters wide.
  • The two large burial mounds have a diameter of 20.0 to 25.0 meters and are 2.0 to 3.0 meters high.
  • The excavated stone circles, which have since been overgrown again, have a diameter of 2.0 to 3.0 meters. They hid cremations from the early Iron Age , which were dated to around 400 AD.
  • The burials and ore mines mean the site was likely part of an old farm or settlement, but no house foundations have been found so far.
