The task of the Berlin State Office for Refugee Affairs is to provide benefits for refugees and to look after their accommodation. It is divided into an arrival and a performance center. The Senate Department for Integration, Labor and Social Affairs is responsible .
founding
The Berlin State Office for Refugee Affairs was founded on August 1st, 2016. Previously, responsibility for the care, support and accommodation of refugees lay with the State Office for Health and Social Affairs (LaGeSo).
Tasks and organization
The State Office for Refugee Affairs is represented externally by a president. He is responsible for internal auditing , the press office and public relations , reporting and controlling as well as data protection .
The authority is then divided into departments and units.

- ID: Medical care, employment and language mediation
Department II: Housing
- II A: Region A (Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf, Pankow, Mitte and Friedrichshain-Kreuzberg)
- II B: Region B (Reinickendorf, Tempelhof-Schöneberg, Neukölln and Treptow-Köpenick)
- II C: Region C (Lichtenberg, Steglitz-Zehlendorf, Spandau and Marzahn-Hellersdorf)

- III B: Urban planning and structural engineering development
- III C: Principle & Quality Management
Department ZS: Central Service
- ZS A: Legal Services and Allocation
- ZS B: personnel, organization and budget
- ZS C: Facility Management and IT
- ZS E: Quality assurance accommodation
criticism
The staff council repeatedly criticized the working conditions. The reason for this was the work overload of the employees and the general conditions. This resulted in a change in management.
