Countess Roda

Countess Roda is a type of garden gnome that has been manufactured and sold by the garden gnome manufacturer Philipp Griebel since 2000 . Its specialty is that it was the world's first female garden gnome. The name is a corruption of Gräfenroda , the seat of the production company.

Countess Roda is 21 cm high and is made of painted ceramic. She has black hair, wears a red pointed cap , a blue skirt and a white apron. n-tv .de reported that the international association for the protection of garden gnomes had reprimanded the company owner Reinhard Griebel for his innovation. According to the IVZSG, a garden gnome must be male.
