Grégory Juel Brenes Obando (born April 21, 1988 ) is a former Costa Rican mountain biker and road cyclist .
Athletic career
In 2007, Grégory Brenes was third overall in the Vuelta Ciclista a Costa Rica. In 2007, 2008 and 2009 he won the local Vuelta de la Juventud .
In 2008 Brenes won the Vuelta Ciclista a Costa Rica , the following year he was second overall. Also in 2009 he won silver in road racing at the Pan American Championships and was national U23 champion in the individual time trial . In 2011 he won two stages of the domestic tour and finished fourth in the individual time trial of the Pan American Championships, and in 2012 he won the prologue of the Vuelta Mundo Maya . In 2014 and 2015 Brenes competed mainly in races in the USA and Mexico and in 2015 he won the Joe Martin Stage Race .
In 2017, Brenes ended his career as an elite road rider, but continues to compete in mountain bike competitions such as the Bike Transalp , where he finished second with Italian Tony Longo around 2019 .
