history
In 1935 a military camp was set up on the large parade ground on what was then Kornwestheim. The barracks served as a camp for French prisoners of war ( Stalag VA ) during the Second World War , and then, from 1945 to 1947, as an internment camp for former NSDAP members. In 1947, accommodation for refugees began to be built in the Ludwigsburg district. In 1950 the Aldingen-Neuheim state dormitory was built, and one year later an emigration camp in the Kornwestheim area. All three parts together were called Grünbühl . In 1956 it was reclassified to Ludwigsburg in order to unite the three housing estates.
The Grünbühl-Sonnenberg district was founded on January 1, 2013 .
