Grünhagen (family name)
Grünhagen is an old family name in the Heidmark in the Lüneburg Heath .
History
The first mention of the name Grünhagen comes from the year 1330. The prosperity of the Grünhagen family was increased by Ulrich Grünhagen, who moved from the Grünhagen monastery to the city of Lüneburg in 1355 and made money from a salt works. Individual families of Grünhagen and von Grünhagen have their own coat of arms.
In the Heidekreis district , the Obergrünhagen farms and Untergrünhagen farms, among others, still remember the centuries-old history of these Heidmark families.
