Friedrich Grünhagen
Friedrich Grünhagen (born February 27, 1876 in Westendorf , Fallingbostel district , † February 1929 in Danzig ) was a German politician ( SPD and Social Democratic Party of the Free City of Danzig ) and senator. As a union member, he headed the "Free Construction Cooperative" . Grünhagen was appointed Senator for the Interior in the Senate Sahm III (1928–1931) of the Free City of Danzig .
Life
Friedrich Grünhagen was the son of a farmer. After elementary school he completed an apprenticeship as a bricklayer and worked as a bricklayer's assistant until 1904. From 1904 to March 1911 he was an employee of the masons 'and construction workers' association in Gdansk. 1907 to 1912 he was chairman of the trade union cartel in Danzig. From April 1911 to 1919 he worked as a workers secretary in Danzig and was also part-time manager of the consumer association .
From 1914 to 1918 he participated in the war. Between February 1915 and April 1918 he was a Russian prisoner of war until he managed to escape from Siberia.
He became a member of the SPD and was a member of the SP District Executive Committee West Prussia , the SP Education Committee and the Press Commission in Gdansk. In the Reichstag elections in 1912 he ran unsuccessfully in the constituency LP15 Danzig 5 ( Berent - Pr. Stargard - Dirschau ).
From August 1919 to December 1928 he worked as a full-time manager of the consumer and savings cooperative in Danzig
In 1920 he became a city councilor in Gdansk. In the election for the constituent assembly in Danzig in 1920 he was elected for the SPD. Then he was a member of the People's Day until 1930 . After the government crisis in 1925, he was elected as a part-time senator in August 1925. After the coalition collapsed, he resigned from the Senate of the Free City of Danzig in October 1926 . In January 1929 he was elected as a full-time member of the Senate, to which he belonged until his death.
