The grave of Captain Lendy ( English Grave of Captain Lendy ) is a national monument of the African state of Sierra Leone . It is located in Walima (also Waiima ) in Chiefdom Fiama , Kono District , Eastern Province .
The monument is (as of 2007) in good condition.
history
British Captain EAW Lendy came by friendly fire of the British and French in 1893 in Walima killed. The French Lieutenant Maritz died alongside him . Both were immediately buried on the spot. The grave Cross was a 1933 monument expanded.
