The restored grave hill is north of Riedenburg, at the lock Riedenburg-Haidhof between the State Street St 2230 and the channel region at a slightly elevated area above the parking lot. The visualization of the Haidhof burial mound, which was built around 600 BC in the Hallstatt period . BC, is supposed to provide insights into the burial customs of the Hallstatt period. The cut grave mound shows two idealized burials, as several deceased were also buried in one grave mound.

Round and rectangular stones and burial mounds from the Hallstatt period were uncovered on the excavation site. The dead in the burial ground , which may originally have included up to 50 mounds, were buried in the body or in fire. The archaeologists recovered valuable finds such as ring bits , yoke rosettes ( fittings of a yoke ) and remnants of toilet utensils . The crockery sets consisted of bowls, dishes and cones neck vessels with creators that were given to the deceased as a service to the hereafter. Relics of meat additions for the deceased, in the form of pork and lamb bones, were also found. The finds seem to reflect the different social status.
