Gravestone for Marguerite van Does in Eth

The grave slab for Marguerite van Does in the Catholic Church of St-Denis von Eth , a French parish in the Nord department in the Hauts-de-France region , was created in the 16th century. The grave slab of marble stands since 1922 as a monument historique in the list of the listed objects ( Base Palissy ) in France.

The 2.30 meter long and 1.32 meter wide grave slab for Marguerite van Does († December 26, 1573), wife of Giles de Ruelin, the landlord of Eth and Bry , with the depiction of the Archangel Michael with the soul scales is nine Decorated family crest of the deceased.

The inscription reads:

"CY GIST NOBLE DAMOISELLE MARGUERITE VAN DOES FEME ET ESPEUSE A NOBLE HOME GILES DERVELIN SGR D'ETH DE BRY ET ROBIES LAQUELLE TRESPASSA LE 26 DECEBRE AN 1573. PRIES DIEU POUR SON AME"
