Grace McCleen
Grace McCleen (born 1981 in Monmouthshire , United Kingdom ) is a British author.
Life
Grace McCleen grew up in a fundamentalist Christian family. She studied English literature at Oxford University and York University . She lives as a singer, songwriter, artist and author in London .
Her debut novel, The Land of Decoration , won the Desmond Elliott Prize in 2012 and the Betty Trask Award in 2013. It has been translated and has appeared in over twenty countries. McCleen stated that she would no longer write novels and focus on her career as a singer, but her second novel, The Professor of Poetry , was published in 2013 and a third, The Offering , was published in 2015.
