The Gradin (from the French. Gradin "stage"), even Amphi called, is a technical term for the round spectator grandstand in a Chapiteau (Big Top) or (more rarely) in a modern amphitheater or stadium .

The spectator stands enclose the ring in the shape of a ramp or staircase, rising to the outside and usually in a three-quarter circle . They consist of a dismountable frame made of steel, aluminum and / or wood. The Gradin is a flying structure . Below the Gradin you have a view of the saddle corridor , this is often a place to stay for artists and circus workers who are waiting or who are not directly involved.
