Lens county

The county of Lens with the capital Lens was held in the 11th century by Lambert von Boulogne († 1054), then by his brother Eustach II , Count of Boulogne.

The castellan of Lens was also Vogt of Saint-Pierre in Ghent from the 11th century .

In 1160 it came under the sovereignty of the county of Flanders , and in 1192 went with the Artois to the King of France .
