The Grafenmühlweiher is an artificially created reservoir in the town of Selb in the Wunsiedel district in the Fichtel Mountains (northeast Bavaria). It is owned by the city of Selb and is used for recreational purposes. Steinbächlein and Engelmeßbach ensure that the pond is constantly filled with water.
history
The Grafenmühlweiher was created to operate a grinding mill. It is named after the owners at the time, Michael and Daniel Graff. The mill pond was mentioned as early as 1660. The pond was an open-air swimming pool from 1914 to 1917, in which the bathing days for men and women were separated for reasons of morality.
