County of Egisheim

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The county of Egisheim with the main town of Egisheim south of Colmar in Upper Alsace existed in the 11th and 12th centuries.

When the Alsatian county of Nordgau fell , Egisheim remained in the possession of the Etichonen , the Alsatian ducal family and counts in the Nordgau; the family members now called themselves "von Egisheim".
