The Grand Hotel in Oslo is a traditional luxury hotel founded in 1874 in the boulevard Karl Johans gate No. 31, opposite the Parliament Storting .

The founder of the hotel and the Grand Café of the same name was the confectioner Julius Fritzner , the property owner was his brother Nicolay. The café was initially above street level, but was rebuilt at the end of the 1870s by Jacob Nordan and the set painter Wilhelm Krogh and became a preferred meeting place for politicians, artists and writers.

The historic hotel building with its own bell tower contains 289 rooms, some of which are furnished with period furniture . The winner of the Nobel Peace Prize is traditionally housed here. The hotel is now part of the Rica Hotels chain .
