Grand Prix de l'Humanité 1974

The Grand Prix de l'Humanité was held in 1974 as a stage race with three stages.

Over 100 drivers from eleven countries took part. The GDR started with a team of track cyclists .

The first stage was on a circuit in Le Havre over 48 kilometers. Sinizin from the USSR won in 1:05:15 h ahead of Bernhard Gruner from the GDR and Leskow (USSR). The second stage led over 148 kilometers from Le Havre to St. Etienne . Sinizin won again in 3:42:12 hours. Vlastimil Bartoníček from the ČSSR and Kalisz from Poland followed, 3:01 minutes behind . The third and final stage led over 190 kilometers from St. Etienne to Paris . It won in 4:41:40 hours Schapylugin from the USSR with 3:41 minutes ahead of the previous overall leader Sinizin and Vlastimil Bartoníček.

By winning the last stage, Schapylugin also secured victory in the overall standings with a 29-second lead over his compatriot Sinizin. Third was Vlastimil Bartoníček, 4:04 minutes behind. For the GDR, Andreas Neuer was in fourth place (4:04 minutes behind), Taudte in seventh place (8:20 minutes behind), Klaus-Dieter Greil in eighth (9:35 minutes behind), Manfred Ulbricht in ninth place (9:38 minutes) Deficit) and Bernhard Gruner place 25 (16:20 minutes behind).
