The Grand Ridge Road is a tourist road in southern Gippsland in the south of the Australian state of Victoria . It connects the Warragul-Korumburra Road (C425) southwest of Seaview with the Hyland Highway (C482) northeast of Carrajung . As its name suggests, the road follows the ridge of the Strzelecki Mountains .

course

Approx. 3 km southwest of the Seaview settlement , Grand Ridge Road branches off from Warragul-Korumburra Road (C425) to the northeast. After Mount Worth State Park , immediately east of Seaview, the road takes a southeast direction and crosses the Tarwin River West Branch. At Mirboo North it crosses the Strzelecki Highway (B460) and continues on its way to the southeast. A little later it swings to the east and reaches the Tarra Bulga National Park about 25 km further .

Along the northern border of the national park, Grand Ridge Road runs through Balook and continues to the northeast. Approx. 3 km northeast of the Carrajung settlement , it meets the Hyland Highway (C482) and ends.

Tourist importance and road conditions

The road, popular with tourists, leads through beautiful landscapes from far farmland to dense forests. Mount Worth State Park in the western part of Grand Ridge Road and Tarra Bulga National Park in the eastern part of the road are particularly recommended.

The road is only partially paved and relatively narrow. Clean asphalt sections alternate with unpaved gravel roads and even washboard slopes .

numbering

The entire length of the road is designated as tourist route 93. The eastern section from the Tarra-Bulga National Park also bears the designation C484.
