The Grande Valley ( English , Spanish Valle Grande 'Great Valley' ) is an expansive valley with a flat valley floor on the Fildes Peninsula of King George Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . In a west-east orientation it lies south of the Gemel Peaks .
Chilean scientists named it around 1996. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee translated this name into English in 2007.
