Grandmaster Ben (born April 10, 1976 in Berlin as Benjamin Biermann ) and Fab 5 Finger (born May 21, 1976 in Hamburg as Stefan Fabinger ) were a DJ and moderator duo founded in 1998 . Fabinger first wrote articles about musicians of interest to him and managed the German band Absolute Beginner in its early years. Biermann moderated radio and television programs in Hamburg with a focus on rap music .

In September 2000 the youth broadcaster N-JOY engaged the duo for the newly created program “Flavor Mix”. Initially, the program, which focused on the various genres of black music , was broadcast on Sunday evenings from 10 p.m. to midnight. From September 2003, the time slot was moved to Friday evening from 7pm to 10pm. The program, which was last mixed and pre-produced by Jonny Joka , was broadcast until spring 2015 .

In the three-hour broadcast, up to 140 songs from the main components hip-hop and R&B and other styles such as dancehall and reggaeton were mixed.

400 programs had been produced by May 2008.

In 2008 Biermann and Fabinger founded a wine and spirits mail order company. In May 2019, Benjamin Biermann left the management of the joint company.
