The “gray chemistry building” (Polish Szara Chemia , literally “gray chemistry”) of the Silesian Technical University is the colloquial name of a neo-renaissance building in ul. Marcina Strzody (formerly Margarethenstrasse) in Gliwice (Gleiwitz). Like the neighboring red chemistry building, the building belongs to the Chair of Chemistry.

Until 1945, the building was the middle school of the city of Gliwice for girls and boys. The middle school opened in 1911. In 1927 the school building was expanded to the northwest.

On the building there is one of the old coats of arms of Gleiwitz in a particularly well-decorated version.
