Management & holdings

Holding Graz, as the parent company holding for the city of Graz, performs the important municipal service tasks. As a holding company, all market-based business areas of the city of Graz are managed with different degrees of participation. From Graz Airport via Citycom Telekommunikation, Holding Graz-Freizeit, Schöckl-Seilbahn , Bestattung Graz, Energie Graz , Servus Abfall, Ankünder to the advertising agency eighty-ten.

Mobility and leisure

The Mobility and Leisure division includes Graz Linien and the Graz Freizeit Holding. The Graz Linien offer includes the operation and infrastructure of local public transport, including multimodal mobility packages and the tim mobility nodes with (e) car sharing, rental cars and e-taxis.

The offer of Holding Graz-Freizeit consists of various recreational and sports offers. These include the Augarten, Auster (outdoor pool and sports pool), Bad zur Sonne, Margareten, Straßgang and Stukitz, beauty, sauna and relaxation areas in the Auster wellness pool, the Spa zur Sonne and the Stukitz sauna. The Schöckl cable car also belongs to Holding Graz-Freizeit . This division summarizes the municipal economic tasks of water supply and wastewater disposal, waste management, street maintenance and street cleaning as well as green space maintenance. Holding Graz holds 51 percent of the energy supplier Energie Graz .

history

In 1960, the joint stock company Grazer Stadtwerke AG was founded with the business areas of “Transportation”, “Electricity”, “Gas”, “District Heating” and “Water”. For the first time, town gas was produced using its own oil cracking system. The district heating supply for Graz was started three years later, with the district heating power plant in Graz's Puchstrasse supplying the first customers with heat.

1985 were the company incorporated the operations "Funeral," "sports, leisure facilities and restaurants." In the same year the Grazer Stadtwerke AG took over the company "Ankünder", the "Steiermärkische Ankündigungsgesellschaft mbH". In 2002 the water service company "Styrian Aqua Service GmbH" was founded as a subsidiary of Grazer Stadtwerke AG. Looking ahead to the upcoming spin-off of the energy divisions into “Energie Graz GmbH”, the “Grazer Stadtwerke Energie Holding” was founded. The separation of the areas of electricity, natural gas and district heating into "Energie Graz GmbH" took place on August 1st, 2002. The split-off changed the ownership structure to the extent that since then the city of Graz has 99.84% and the "Grazer Bau- und Grünlandsicherungsgesellschaft" Holds 0.16% of the shares. In 2004, Grazer Stadtwerke AG acquired 100% of Graz Airport .

On June 29, 2010, the general meeting decided to convert Graz AG into a limited liability company. Since October 30, 2010 the company has been operating under the new name Holding Graz - Kommunale Dienstleistungen GmbH .
