Great Alliance

Great Alliance is the name of a political association of different parties with the same political orientation, founded for the 1992 elections in Ghana .

She was considered a political opponent of the Progressive Alliance of the military dictator, who had ruled since 1981 and later the first president of the fourth Republic of Ghana, Jerry Rawlings . Jerry Rawlings' future successor in office, President John Agyekum Kufuor, assembled the opposition groups under the Great Alliance for the parliamentary elections of 1992 and 1996.

The Great Alliance consisted of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), People's Convention Party (PCP) and the People's National Convention (PNC) party. The Great Alliance parties boycotted the 1992 elections.
