Great Barford is a small town and civil parish in Bedfordshire , England , about seven kilometers (4.4 ml) northeast of Bedford on the Great Ouse River.
Great Barford parish is on the A 421 which connects Bedford and St Neots in Cambridgeshire . The A 421 was put into operation on August 24, 2006.
The community is known for its All Saints Church with its tower from the 15th century and the bridge of the same architectural style from the same century. The area and the historical buildings make the community a popular destination for canoeing, fishing and picnics. Nearby towns are Renhold and Blunham .
Great Barford maintains a city partnership with Wöllstein in Rhineland-Palatinate .
