Greater Tubatse

Greater Tubatse is a former municipality in the Sekhukhune district , Limpopo Province in South Africa, with its headquarters in Burgersfort . In 2011 the population was 335,676 in an area of ​​4602 km².

The municipality belonged to the Mpumalanga Province before it was added to Limpopo. On August 3, 2016, Greater Tubatse was merged with the neighboring municipality of Fetakgomo to form the municipality of Fetakgomo / Greater Tubatse .

The parish was named after the Tubatse River, formerly known as the Steelport River, which is a right tributary of the Lepelle .

The motto of the community was Ntsee Kgopu and comes from North Sotho .
