The Foundation for Environmental Education ( English: Foundation for Environmental Education , FEE for short ) is a non-governmental organization founded in 1981 whose aim is to sustainably strengthen environmental protection through environmental education .
The FEE operates internationally and acts as an umbrella organization that supports one member organization in each member country. The national organizations implement the FEE programs and are supported by the umbrella organization. FEE is active in 41 countries around the world. The German member organization is the German Society for Environmental Education (DGU) in Sternberg , in Switzerland it is the Association J'aime ma Planète in Geneva ; Austria is not represented.

Blue Flag
The Blue Flag is a seal of approval that is awarded annually to beaches and ports. There will be at the award u. a. Criteria such as water quality, environmental management and safety are observed.
Eco-Schools
The Eco-School award is given to schools that meet special requirements for environmental education and environmentally friendly behavior.

The program is aimed at schools.
Learning About Forests
The program is intended to support teachers in making greater use of forests for teaching purposes. The aim is to bring the idea of environmental protection closer to the students through direct contact with nature.
The Green Key
The Green Key is a certification program and eco-label for tourism businesses such as hotels and campsites. It is a catalog of basic criteria that are filled out and adapted for each country. This includes criteria from the areas of environmental management , water and energy, waste management and offers of nature activities. The eco-label is given a country-specific name, for example The Green Key in English or La Clef Verte in French . Since May 2012 there are also certified companies in Germany.
