Various books and materials from the series in the characteristic green

In 2006 the first volume of the new textbook series was published. The generation of textbooks begins with the initial work "Green Line 1", with which the pupils in grade 5 work, and ends after "Green Line Transition" (grade 11 / introductory phase ) with the upper level volume "Green Line Oberstufe".

A large number of didactic elements are combined in each of the volumes: Skills course with procedural learning, practicing grammar, text quality, contextualized exercises with the primary learning goal of communication skills. The series of textbooks places the skills to be acquired at the center of the learning process (competence orientation). The lesson texts follow the principle of inductive learning : the students use the grammatical structures that appear in the text to derive the corresponding rules, which are listed in the grammar section of the textbook and illustrated by example sentences.

In addition to the textbooks, the publisher provides a range of additional materials, such as student workbooks, grammars, audio CDs and DVDs with educational films. There is also additional help for teachers, such as teachers' books with sample solutions or suggestions for measuring performance in class work. In addition, the publisher offers a free vocabulary trainer app for iOS and Android .

Awards

Works from the Green Line series have already been awarded the textbook of the year prize from the Georg Eckert Institute twice: in 2016 "Green Line Upper Level North Rhine-Westphalia" and in 2018 the volume "Green Line 3" (3rd place).

Further editions

The previous generations of Green Line are called Green Line New , Green Line and Password Green . They were published by Ernst Klett Verlag from 1995 and 1999 and have been replaced by Green Line .

Parallel to Green Line, the Lines system also includes the differentiated versions Blue Line, Klett Red Line and Orange Line, which can be flexibly combined with one another, for heterogeneous learning groups in secondary, secondary and comprehensive schools.

Several federal states teach with separate works, for example "Green Line Saxony-Anhalt" or "Green Line New Bavaria". In addition, there are various expenses for the Abitur after 8 or 9 years (G8 or G9).
