Gregor Goldbacher (born October 10, 1875 in Steyr ; † August 22, 1950 there ) was an Austrian teacher, dialect poet and local researcher.

Goldbacher graduated from the Steyr Realschule in 1894 and studied at the Technical University and the University of Vienna, where he also attended lectures on German literature. During this time he made friends with the later music teacher Karl Mayer-Freinberg (1875-1949).

After passing the teaching examination, he was appointed professor for mathematics and descriptive geometry (since 1900 also for shorthand) at the Michaelerplatz secondary school in his hometown on September 15, 1899. In 1935 he retired.

He wrote local history feuilletons and essays. The fact that he also wrote poems in honor of Adolf Hitler in the year of the Anschluss in 1938 gave rise to criticism. He also published the yearbook of the Association of Upper Austrian Dialect Poets Hoamtgsang .
