KG or shortly Griffin Group is a nationally acting textile services company headquartered in Augsburg and interacts with the brand Griffin Textile rental systems , diemietwaesche.de and dieGesundheitsWäsche on. With 1350 employees and 11 branches across Germany, around 370 tons of textiles were processed per day in 2016.

Griffin group

Greif Holding is the parent company of a group of companies whose companies throughout Germany all focus on the field of textile services. The locations of these companies are in Augsburg, Berlin, Cadolzburg, Eggenfelden, Erfurt, Gundremmingen, Hamburg, Langenfeld, Wolfratshausen and Wangen im Allgäu. social commitment

The company supports various local sports clubs around the respective branches with sponsorship and donations. These include predominantly regional associations such as football clubs, tennis or volleyball clubs.

Since October 2016 there has been a school sponsorship with the local Schillerschule-Augsburg at the headquarters. The partnership between the Greif Group and the Schillerschule helps schoolchildren with career orientation and career preparation. The company is in permanent contact with the Schiller School and offers student internships.

The company regularly donates textiles to aid organizations. Laundry that has been taken out of the program but is still in good condition is made available to the Humedica aid organization, for example .

Environmental protection and sustainability

The Greif Group has been calculating its CO₂ footprint since 2013. The balance sheet is based on the provisions of the Greenhouse Gas Protocol , the world's most developed and recognized standard for the creation of greenhouse gas balances . The accounting for 2013 and 2014 is initially limited to direct emissions from fuel consumption ( Scope 1 ) and indirect emissions from energy consumption ( Scope 2 ). For the calendar years since 2015, other relevant indirect emissions (Scope 3) are also measured. As a consequence of the annual analysis of the CO₂ footprint, the Greif Group has been using 100% green electricity across all branches since January 2018. The Greif Group has also joined the Science Based Target initiative. This initiative calls for and examines company-specific emission targets that are in line with the required global reductions.

Under the Greif Textile Mietsysteme brand , the Greif Group is the first and so far only textile service provider to offer climate-neutral rental linen. The CO₂ emitted by the provision, processing, maintenance and delivery of the laundry can be offset. The customer pays an additional amount to support a compensation project certified according to an internationally recognized standard. The project is certified by VCS & CCBS and supports the reforestation of tropical forest areas in Colombia.

Awards

The service provided by climate-neutral rental linen took second place in the climate category for the “Green Ribbon Award - for sustainability in the out-of-home market”.
