The Griffin Bridge ( Russian Банковский мост Bankowski most ) in Saint Petersburg is a pedestrian bridge completed in 1826. The 25-meter-long chain bridge , designed by the Baden civil engineer Wilhelm von Traitteur , crosses the Gribojedow Canal .

Because of its proximity to the Assignation Bank, it is also called the bank bridge. The bridge is famous for its four griffins statues by Pawel Petrovich Sokolow , on which the supporting structure is suspended. Touching the gold-plated wings is said to bring good luck.

Their chains consist of long, thin iron rods that are connected to one another with eyes and bolts . The hangers, which are also made of thin iron rods, are also attached to the connecting element.

Wilhelm von Traitteur also built the Egyptian Bridge and the Lion Bridge at the same time , which are also equipped with figures by Sokolow.
