Gretl Melsheimer

Gretl Melsheimer (born January 15, 1938 in Dorna-Watra (Carpathian Mountains, Romania)) is a German politician ( SPD ) and former member of the Hessian state parliament .

Melsheimer attended elementary school from 1944 to 1948 and then a grammar school until 1957, where she graduated from high school. She then studied German, history and sociology at the universities in Marburg and Frankfurt am Main. After completing his studies, I did trade union training and worked in a magazine editorial. She is a member of the SPD.

Melsheimer has been the deputy chairwoman of the local SPD association in Marburg-Nord since 1977, and from 1985 to 1993 she was deputy chairwoman of the SPD city association in Marburg. From 1981 she was a city councilor in Marburg, where she was chairman of the SPD parliamentary group from 1985 to 1987. On April 5, 1995, she replaced Hartmut Holzapfel in the state parliament of Hesse, to which she belonged until the end of the 14th electoral term on April 4, 1999. In the state parliament she was a member of the committee for science and art and the cultural policy committee.
