Gray November is a gothic metal and funeral doom band founded in 1998 .

history

Cédric Seyssiecq, who lives in Lille, France, founded Gray November in Paris in autumn 1998. Since then, the multi-instrumentalist has worked with the singers Lana Coralys, Justine Daaé from Elyose and Marieke Delanghe from Heonia as well as with the singer and guitarist Mickaël Boyron to realize his musical ideas. The first publications of the project appeared as download and stream self-published until Seyssiecq signed a contract with the Russian independent label GS Productions . The comprehensive retrospective Novembre gris 2016 and the album L'autre mort 2018 were published via GS Productions . Despite the cooperation with the popular label, the reception, albeit positive, remained dull.

style

The music played by Gray November is described as a crossover of calm Funeral Doom and ethereal Gothic Metal . The music combines female vocals and atmospheric keyboard playing with a dark and doomy mood. The band with their style is "far removed from the bombast of such bands that are closer to Gothic Metal".
