Grigori Dewidowitsch Sijatwinda ( Russian Григо́рий Дэ́видович Сиятвинда ; born   April 26, 1970 in Tyumen , RSFSR , Soviet Union as Grigori Dewidowitsch Sjatunda ) is an actor of Russian - Zambian origin. Since 2006 he has been named "Honored Artist of the Russian Federation".

Life

Grigori Sijatwinda was born in 1970 to a Zambian and a Russian woman . When Sijatwinda was two years old, his parents moved to Zambia. However, when his parents divorced in 1975, his mother returned to the Soviet Union and took him with her.

When Grigori Sijatwinda graduated from Tyumen Middle School in 1986, he was accepted at the Tyumen Industrial Institute ( Тюменский индустриальный институт ). After the first semester, however, he was drafted into the Soviet Army for one year of military service. He then broke off his studies because he had decided on a career in the artistic field. For this he went to Moscow to be accepted at the Boris Shchukin Theater Institute. He graduated from this institute with a diploma in 1995 and then worked in the Moscow Theater "Satirikon".

In 1996 Grigori Sijatwinda made his film actor debut, which was his personal breakthrough. He won one award after another and in 2006 he was finally given the honorary title of "Honored Artist of the Russian Federation". In addition, in 2003 he was awarded the “ State Prize of the Russian Federation ” by Russian President Vladimir Putin .

To this day, Grigori Sijatwinda is one of the very few Afro-Russians in Russian show business.
