Grigorij Demidowtzew ( Russian Григорий Демидовцев , actually Grigorij Anatoljewitsch Petrov , Russian Григорий Анатольевич Петров ; born October 12, 1960 in Leningrad , USSR ) is a Russian writer and playwright . He is a member of the Union of Russian Writers and writes in the genre of philosophical fantasy .

Grigorij Demidowtzew is the author of 18 books, five of which form the cycle Breathing of Death and Eternity of Love . In these books, actions take place in the imaginary country of Neworus and in real cities in Russia and Europe . The state of Neworus lies in an alternative reality, which also includes Scandinavia, the northern part of the Russian Federation , Iceland , Greenland , partly North America and oceanic islands.

In 2007 Grigory Demidovtsev founded a theater in Saint Petersburg , the aim of which is to reflect his work. Recently Grigory Demidowtzew has been writing about the German-Soviet War and the Minoan culture . The author is inspired by real historical facts, eyewitness accounts, and stories from famous and lesser-known German writers. He analyzes the historical figures in an unusual and ambiguous way. In a sense, he makes a prognosis by comparing historical events in the past with those that are possible in the future. Demidowtzew's books belong to the class of historical fiction, with elements of psychology , the detective novel and the love story . But the main characteristic of his works is the connection between historical events and metaphysics .
