Grippel is a district of the municipality of Langendorf in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district in Lower Saxony . Before 1972, Grippel was part of Laase together with Pretzetze . The place is on the west bank of the Elbe . In some years some storks raise their young birds here . Dannenberger Straße (L 256) and Grippeler Elbuferstraße (K 27) meet in Grippel. The road through the village has regularly been the scene of transports to the Gorleben nuclear waste storage facility since 1995 . In November 2008 the rural emergency community blocked the road in Grippel with two concrete pyramids while transporting nuclear waste.
