Pretzetze is a district of the municipality of Langendorf in the Lüchow-Dannenberg district in Lower Saxony .
The village is located on the L 256 state road not far from the northeast flowing Elbe between the Langendorfer districts of Grippel and Laase .
history
At the former forester's house in Pretzetze, the Pretzetze Castle was located on a slightly elevated plateau as a medieval low castle of the moth type . The timber merchant Johann Georg Jauch in Pretzetze ran the rafting on the Elbe for the JC Jauch & Sons company in Hamburg from 1769 to 1840. In the 19th century, this company was the most important wood wholesaler in Hamburg.
Until 1972, Pretzetze and Grippel belonged to the then independent municipality of Laase. On July 1, 1972 Pretzetze was incorporated into the municipality of Langendorf (Elbe).
