Large auditorium of the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich
The large auditorium of the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich is located in the main building of the Ludwig Maximilians University on Ludwigstrasse in Munich . The auditorium was planned as part of the main university building by Friedrich von Gärtner and completed in 1840. It is located on the first floor in the south wing of the gardener's building and extends to the second floor.
During the Second World War , the auditorium was largely undamaged. It was thus one of the few usable large rooms in Munich in the post-war period . Therefore, the first post-war concerts took place in the auditorium. In addition, the constituent assembly of the Free State of Bavaria took place there, in which the new Bavarian constitution was adopted.
Today, concerts, lectures and lectures take place in the large auditorium.
