Great Chagyima Hall

The Great Chagyima Hall ( Chinese  查 杰玛 大殿 , Pinyin Chájiémǎ dàdiàn , English Chagyima Hall ) in the large municipality of Riboche in the city of Qamdo in the Tibet Autonomous Region of the People's Republic of China , dates from the Yuan to Qing dynasty.

The Riboche Monastery (Chinese: Leiwuqi si 类乌齐 寺) originally belonged to the Taklung Kagyü School. The hall was built in 1326 under headmaster Wogyain Gongbo (Chin. Wujian gongbu 乌 坚 贡布) and it became a symbol of the Taklung Kagyü school.

The hall is approx. 30 meters high and has three floors: the first is approx. 13.5 m high, the second approx. 9 m and the third approx. 5 m. In the hall there is a golden statue of Sakyamuni that Sangjyiwen (Chinese: Sangjiwen 桑吉 温) brought here from Lhasa .

The hall has been on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China (6-764) since 2006 .
