The Great Mosque of Taipei ( Engl. Taipei Grand Mosque ) is the largest and most famous mosque of Taiwan. It is located in Da'an , a southern district of the Taiwanese capital Taipei . Their total area on Xinsheng South Street is over 2500 square meters. It was registered as a Historic Monument on June 26, 1999 by the Taipei City Government.

In the second half of the 1950s, a mosque was the chairman of the according to the proposal to build Chinese Muslim Association (CMA) bai chongxi and Foreign Minister George Yeh the building by the architect Yang Cho-cheng designed by the Continental Engineering Corporation realized and Completed on April 13, 1960. The construction costs were borne by the Chinese Muslim Association , 150,000 US dollars came from the Shah of Persia , Mohammad Reza Pahlavi , and 100,000 US dollars from the King of Jordan , later the Taiwanese government issued the remaining payment. The mosque has close ties to Saudi Arabia , which continues to provide financial support to the mosque. In 1971 the Saudi King Faisal visited the mosque.

The building is the largest mosque in Taiwan, its complex includes a reception hall, a prayer hall, offices, a library and a cleaning hall. It combines modern with Middle Eastern architectural elements.
