The Große Angerfelsen is a 25 m high climbing rock artificially erected in the course of the Federal Horticultural Show in 1999 in the Elbauenpark in Magdeburg 's Herrenkrug district .

For the construction , balcony parts from the renovation of old prefabricated buildings in Neu Olvenstedt were piled up and sprayed with special concrete from the outside. The well-secured routes can be climbed with or without colored holds. The levels of difficulty are therefore variable and the climbing rock is equally suitable for professionals and amateurs.

The rock can be used free of charge. In addition to the appropriate equipment and caution, a day ticket or an annual pass in the surrounding Elbauenpark is required.

There are a total of 25 routes screwed with handles on the rock. In addition, there are another 6 routes that do not require any handles. Since every climbing route with handles can usually be climbed again without handles, sometimes with a considerable increase in difficulty , this makes a total of 56 routes.
