Grand Orient of Luxembourg

The Grand Orient of Luxembourg is an association of liberal Masonic lodges . This was founded together by the men's box L'Espérance , which left the Grand Loge de Luxembourg in 1959 , and the men's boxes Liberté and Tolérance . This obedience also initially only accepted men.

In 1968 the Grand Orient of Luxembourg was "put to sleep" due to internal difficulties; H. all work was suspended. Only the L'Espérance lodge continued to work as a Masonic circle. In 1970 the L'Espérance lodge was brought back to life. The lodge works as an independent and sovereign lodge without affiliation to an obedience . In 1982 the process of 1959 was repeated. The three lodges mentioned above brought the Grand Orient of Luxembourg back to life, this time both men and women were accepted. In 1987 a fourth lodge called Tradition et Progrès was founded. In 1991 the mixed Lodge Light and Truth was accepted in Bonn. 2000 Admission of the men's box Montaigne in the Orient Liège ( Belgium ). In 2002, the Montaigne men's box is transformed into a box that accommodates both men and women. The first women were initiated immediately.

At the beginning of 2005 the Dutch Lodge Fiat Lux in Orient Leuwaarden and the Lodge Ruuwe Kassei in Orient Gent / Belgium were added. Both are lodges for men and women.

In 1998, the Heidelberg Lodge Carpe Diem , which was once the Masonic Grand Lodge for men and women - Germany (FGL), was opened ! for both men and women. However, this box was closed in 2018.
