Large stone graves near Altenboitzen

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The large stone graves at Altenboitzen were several megalithic graves of unknown numbers from the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Altenboitzen , a district of Walsrode in the Heidekreis district ( Lower Saxony ). They were destroyed in the 19th century. One of them was located about 250 m east of the village and 100 m south of the road to Hollige in a depression. It was destroyed before 1890. Other facilities had already been destroyed many years earlier despite efforts to preserve them. Their exact locations are not known, it is only known that they were in the fields near Altenboitzen and Hollige. No more detailed information is available about the orientation, dimensions and type of grave of the systems.
