The large stone grave Badenstedt (also known as Fürstengruft , Steinhaus or Hünenkeller ) is a grave complex of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near the district of Badenstedt in the district of Rotenburg (Wümme) , which belongs to the municipality of Zeven , in Lower Saxony . It bears the Sprockhoff number 648.

location

The grave is located southeast of Badenstedt in a parcel known as Steinahlken or Steinalkenheide . A group of 70 burial mounds is located just a few meters south of the complex .

description

The plant is oriented northeast-southwest and shows a strong degree of destruction. When he was photographed in 1930, Ernst Sprockhoff could still make out a flat mound and six stones, one of which is a capstone. Another capstone was removed in 1920 for the erection of a war memorial . In 1978 the grave was excavated and reconstructed. The south-western half of the burial chamber was rebuilt with one stone on the narrow side, two each on the long sides and the cap stone.
