from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The Weidlehaus is a free-standing hipped roof building on Residenzplatz in Kempten (Allgäu) . The neo-classical building with bat dormers was built in 1833, it is under monument protection with the address Königstraße 25 (D-7-63-000-110). The Bachschmidhaus is in the immediate vicinity .

The three-story building has five window axes per facade. On the ground floor there are large-scale shop windows in the classic plaster cuboid since 1959. The upper floors have a smooth plaster with corner pilaster strips . There are arched windows on the first floor and rectangular windows in the second.

At times, the building was home to the city's natural history collection (the so-called Reiser collection ) and the office of the home keeper Alfred Weitnauer . The Weidlehaus is now part of the surrounding business premises of the Sparkasse Allgäu .
