Gennady Ivanovich Sashenev
Gennady Ivanovich Saschenew ( Russian Геннадий Иванович Саженев ; born June 13, 1921 , † September 15, 2010 in Moscow ) was a Soviet ambassador .
Life
During the Second World War he was used by the Red Army in the Battle of Moscow . In 1950 he completed a law degree at the Moscow Institute of Law and entered the foreign service where he studied at the college of the Soviet Foreign Ministry until 1960 .
From 1960 to 1963 he was employed in Havana . From 1963 to 1968 he was employed in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Moscow. From 1968 to 1971 he was Minister Counselor in Bogotá . From 1972 to 1975 he was a counselor in the Foreign Ministry in Moscow. From 1975 to 1979 he was Minister Counselor in Buenos Aires with Jorge Rafael Videla . From 1979 to 1982 he was Counselor in the Foreign Ministry in Moscow. From July 29, 1982 to 1983 he was ambassador to St. George’s . From 1984 until his retirement he was ambassador to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Moscow.
