Great stone grave Düring

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The large stone grave Düring was a megalithic grave complex of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Düring , a district of Loxstedt in the district of Cuxhaven ( Lower Saxony ). It was near Düring "on a hill in the Haide, about 60 paces [approx. 45 m] from the moor ”. It was about 10 m long and 6 m wide. In the 1890s it still consisted of 16 stones, all of which probably came from the enclosure, but none of them apparently were in their original location. The stones were up to 1 m long and 1 m wide. Ernst Sprockhoff couldn't make out any remains in the 1920s.
