Great stone grave in Deinstedt

The large stone grave Deinstedt was a megalithic grave complex of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Deinstedt in the district of Rotenburg (Wümme) ( Lower Saxony ). It was destroyed in the 19th century.

The grave was in the field near Deinstedt on a point about 2.5 feet (about 0.75 m) elevated point.

description

The grave was oriented southeast-northwest and at the end of the 19th century only had three wall stones standing in situ . They were each 1.47 m long and protruded about 1 m from the ground. 20 more stones lay around in a mess, individually or in groups. The facility took up an area of ​​12 paces square. The type of grave can no longer be determined.

There was a single stone or three stones nearby, which may have been the remains of a second grave.
