Great stone grave Glasow (Western Pomerania)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The large stone grave Glasow was a possible megalithic grave complex of the Neolithic funnel cup culture near Glasow in the district of Vorpommern-Greifswald ( Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania ). It was probably 1.7 km southwest of the church of Glasow on the edge of the Randow lowland, just before the state border with Brandenburg . In 1986 R. Let found a large stone in this place, which was probably originally a cover or wall stone of a large stone grave. Shortly afterwards, the stone was pushed into an abandoned gravel pit and filled in. No other finds are known. On the opposite bank of the Randow are the megalithic graves at Wollschow and Bagemühl .
