The large stone grave Heckelberg was a megalithic grave complex of the Neolithic Age near Heckelberg , a district of Heckelberg-Brunow in the district of Märkisch-Oderland ( Brandenburg ). It was probably destroyed in the 19th or 20th century.

location

The grave was located south of the Barbican Gratze, near the so-called "Knights Castle".

description

Friedrich Dehmlow reports, referring to a report that can no longer be found in the archive of the Märkisches Museum in Berlin, of a robbed “megalithic grave”. No more detailed information is available about dimensions, alignment and type. Hans-Jürgen Beier classifies it generally as a large stone grave, Eberhard Kirsch as a large stone grave or stone box . At the time the report was written (the date is unknown) the side panels of the system were still in place. A ceramic vessel (“urn”) was also recovered, but no details were given about it. Eberhard Kirsch considers it possible to classify the system in the spherical amphora culture .
