Heckelberg-Brunow is a municipality in the Märkisch-Oderland district in Brandenburg . It is part of the Falkenberg-Höhe office .

geography

The place is on the plateau south of the Barnim on the edge of the Brunower Heide. Southwest of the community is the Gamengrund , an ice age deep channel. The community is located about 12 km south of Eberswalde and 30 km northeast of Berlin .

Community structure

The community consists of the districts Heckelberg and Brunow. Inhabited parts of the community are Beerbaum, Brunow, Gratze, Heckelberg and Tiefenseer Siedlung.

history

The district of Brunow was first mentioned in 1347 as "Brunowe" and Heckelberg was first mentioned in 1340. In the Middle Ages belonged Good on the field Mark the place for the possession of the Cistercian nuns - monastery Friedland .

Heckelberg and Brunow belonged to the Oberbarnim district in the province of Brandenburg since 1817 and to the Bad Freienwalde district in the GDR district of Frankfurt (Oder) from 1952 .
